Artificial substances injected into skin to correct wrinkles, depressions, and/or scarring.

Dermatome

An instrument that has an oscillatory blade that moves back and forth to equally shave off a portion of skin which may then be used for skin graft treatment.

Dermis

A thicker supporting layer of the skin, underneath the epidermis.

Deviated septum

when the cartilage which separates the nostrils is crooked, which can lead to partial nasal airway obstruction

Diastasis

when the large abdominal muscles have been overstretched or separated.
