Also called a CAT scan, it is a procedure that provides diagnostic imaging which uses a mixture of x-rays and technology to provide cross-sectional pictures (often known as slices). A CT scan shows elaborated pictures of a part of the body, as well as the bones, muscles, fat, and organs. CT scans can show more detail than x-rays.
